Make clean the dorsum surface of the panels by wiping with a clean fabric and rubbing alcohol. Refer to adhesive manufacturer's directions. Apply rubbing alcohol in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
  2. Dry layout.
It is recommended you perform a "dry out layout" prior to applying whatever adhesive. Measure out walls, check for level, square and plumb. Depending on dimensions and room structure, you may need to trim some panels appropriately or use Corner Divider Trims to hide gaps. Please reference Mode Connections lists to a higher place to notice how to lay your panels:
    • Butt Together connections: these panels just butt at the seams. See Installation Step 5 for trim options if yous want to cover upward seams.
    • Bead and Button/Pattern Overlap connections: these styles overlap on their patterns or on the bead and button perimeter.
    • Overlap Lip connections: these styles take 1/two″ flat edges. The longer apartment edge is the top of the console and shorter flat edge is the right side of the console. Accommodate all panels this fashion so additional panels tin be added to the meridian or right side of whatsoever panel.
  3. Cutting the panels.
Measure and cutting the panels as needed.

Installation

  1. Installing trim strips (finishing the edges). If the area to exist covered ends on a flat wall, and you want to cease the edges, you lot can practice then by using matching edge J-trim. Also, if you have an within or exterior corner, it is recommended using matching corner trim. You should install the J-trim and corner trims onto your console earlier beginning your wall console installation. Meet illustrations below.
  1. Installing your first console. Clean the dorsum side of each panel using isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel or cloth as described in the Preparation section. Make sure the kickoff console you intend to install fits. Brand any cuts as necessary as described below in the Tips section. Slide trim onto edge of console. Employ adhesive to the back of the panel and trim. The recommended adhesive is Loctite® PL Premium or Premium Fast Catch. Carefully read and follow agglutinative manufacturer's directions. You can use console tube adhesive according to drawing in a higher place, using a one/8″ to iii/16″ bead. The 28 oz. adhesive tube covers approximately i-1/two (iv′ ten 8′) wall panels. Or use tub agglutinative. In both cases, we recommend spreading the adhesive out on the panel evenly with a ane/8″ trowel as shown below.
  1. Squeeze out trapped air. Once your panel is placed, press against the wall using a soft cloth to apply pressure evenly across the console to squeeze out excess air. Repeat this footstep for each installed panel. NOTE: For proper panel adhesion, the trowel-on method is recommended. This will preclude any open pockets or bubbles.
  2. Wipe off excess adhesive. Use h2o or mineral spirits and a cloth. Clean off any adhesive residual that is visible while information technology is still wet. Practise non allow this residue to dry as it will exist very hard to clean upwards when dry and could harm the finish.
  3. Install divider trim for butt-jointed panels (optional). To install the divider trim, slide back flange into place under the console edge and push button against the border. And then slide next panel into it. The divider trim does not need to be fastened if y'all are installing panels with adhesive as recommended.

Installation Tips

  1. Cut panels for outlets and calorie-free switches. Mensurate and mark the border of where the opening has to be with a marker. Score along the entire edge using a utility pocketknife, making a few passes with a bit more pressure level each pass. Then in the center surface area to exist removed, cutting a i/2″ to 1″ triangular hole all the way through the panel. Next, using sharp scissors or tin snips, cut angled cuts from the edges of the cut triangle to the corners of the edge scores. Then carefully bend each corner area along the scores until they interruption gratis. See illustrations below.
  1. Overlapping lip panels, where 4 panels intersect. When overlapping 4 panels, information technology is necessary to cut a 1/ii″ notch in panels 2 and three to avert an overlap buildup that causes a "bump." This is a rare occurrance. Piece of work from bottom left. Start from the left side at the bottom and work either upwards or to the right. An exception to this rule would be designing a layout of panels to be centered at a focal point. If so, build out from both sides of the focal point.
  1. Make clean simply with warm, soapy water. Never employ abrasive cleaners. Using a high-quality auto smoothen tin can help protect the finish.
  2. To speed up adhesive curing time, lightly spray the agglutinative with a fine mist of make clean water afterwards applying the Loctite® PL Premium adhesive to the console.

CAUTION: Even though these panels are "Form A" fire rated, they tin can be deformed with excessive heat. Never betrayal to heat over 140ºF. Continue heat sources at to the lowest degree 6-inches from panels.

Never utilize annoying materials such as scouring pads to clean surface; use only a soft cloth or sponge with mild soap and h2o.
